We have been vacationing this area for over 35 years several times a year. After a recent poor experience with our old cabin rental company, CMR, we were forced to make a change and try this rental which was a short distance from our old one. Naturally we were somewhat reserved on a change in cabins but after arriving were pleasantly surprised in major ways. #1. Super clean as we tend to be neat freaks in our lodging. Very nice views, very quiet cabin and nicely decorated. Sometimes it's the little things that put an experience over the top. This proved to be case from this cabin owner and cleaning staff - MANY pleasing little things. Clean was a major problem at our PREVIOUS cabin that we tried to overlook for years. You can tell when someone takes pride and great care to do their job responsibly and correct. The master of clean nit-pickers could find nothing wrong. We had a wonderful stay and hope we left the cabin in the same great condition when we arrived. Thank you for sharing your cabin and we look forward to many more stays.
Mountain Retreat - Perfect for 2 couples/a small family!

A Glimpse of Heaven lived up to its name! We were there late June/July 2017 and could not have had a more wonderful experience. While it is a genuine log cabin, it was immaculate, updated, comfortable & welcoming with a view that would be difficult to top!
This cabin is the perfect place for 2 couples "splitting the cost" of the vacation as both bedrooms had nice king beds with adjoining full baths, a spectacular view, and their own "private" balcony (assuming no one is sleeping in the lower level game room). While the bedroom upstairs has a better view (esp. from the bathroom!) and incredible décor with the starburst chandelier and detailed railings, the lower level bedroom has more privacy (it's not a loft) and access to the hot tub on the lower balcony. Neither couple will feel cheated :)
If your goal is to relax while you take in the mountains, this cabin is the perfect setup. We barely spent any time indoors as the double swings and rockers on the decks were comfortable enough to sit in for literally hours at a time, watching God's artwork with His amazing sunsets, cloud formations, and fog creeping through the multiple valleys. With the leaves on the trees, A Glimpse of Heaven feels very remote in that the only homes you see are on distant peaks. The cabins on either side - while close in proximity - are situated such that there is total privacy. We were blessed to have quiet neighbors, so we rarely heard anyone as we sat outside. The decks are wide and covered such that we were able to stay outside during the few brief showers/storms that blew through.
The cabin was very adequately stocked (down to a crock pot!) allowing us to cook all of our meals there and enjoy dining on the deck each night. Gatlinburg was only 20 min. away and Townsend (with a full size grocery store) was right around 10 minutes. Getting to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park was VERY convenient, esp. when you go through Wear Valley (turn at the WV Country Store) and enter the park through the picnic area between the main Visitor Center and Cades Cove.
A real treat for us was the "bear friend" that literally walked up the driveway to check the locks on our trash cans after dinner! As we walked outside one evening, he was literally 10 feet away!! His lack of interest in people put us at ease quickly, but I would be reluctant to leave food in the car overnight...!

We have been coming to the Smoky Mountains for 11 years now, and this was the CLEANEST cabin I've been to yet! The location is perfect, with an entrance into the park that very few even know about, only a few minutes away (Lyon springs road). My wife, myself, and 2 small children had plenty of space, and the view is absolutely magnificent. There is very little development on the mountain sides that are in your view, so the daytime view is unspoiled, and the nights on the balconies are dark and incredibly peaceful. The rear of the cabin faces west, giving you a BEAUTIFUL sunset every night! It's a nice quiet neighborhood, and only minutes from Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, and more importantly, the National Park. I HIGHLY recommend this cabin. Beautiful, clean, perfect location....what more could you ask for?!! Thank you Tim and Shirley for sharing your amazing cabin with us! We can't wait to come back and make more memories!!

First of all, Shirley was an absolute joy to work with. She went out of her way to make us feel right at home in her beautiful cabin. She even provided a high chair for our baby girl and a dog crate for our pup so that we wouldn't have to pack our own. This was so helpful, since packing for a toddler and a dog involves a very loaded down car! The cabin was very clean, comfortable in every way, and very well stocked with anything you'd need. The view was just incredible, and I could have stayed in the hammock the entire week. What a view! Sunsets at the cabin were especially pretty.
The cabin was perfectly located in Wear's Valley...our favorite spot in the Smokies. It's far enough away from all the tourist attractions of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, but close enough when you want to visit those areas. We hiked a lot during our stay, and there's a back entrance into the park right in the valley, just down the road from the cabin. There's a place called National Park Market on the road going into this back entrance that is a great place to grab a picnic lunch before heading into the park. They also have a nice general store. Don't miss eating a meal at Elvira's Cafe in Wear's Valley, either.
In my opinion, you can't beat Wear's Valley. It's a little hidden gem and is so peaceful and scenic. My only regret is that we didn't stay longer. We are already looking forward to visiting again!

Our family loved staying at Glimpse of Heaven! Its a beautiful cabin with a great floor plan on all three levels. We were very comfortable with all the amenities for a home away from home! We felt spoiled and that killer view was the icing on the cake from sunrise to sunset! We would definitely recommend Glimpse of Heaven for anyone who is looking for a spacious family cabin in the beautiful Smoky Mountains. The location was great too. We were not far from. Townsend, Cades Cove, Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg and yet we still felt that we were away from all the hustle and bustle up on the mountain which was so peaceful and relaxing.
Every morning the view of the mountains was breathtaking!

The cabin definitely lives to it's name, every morning the view of the mountains was breathtaking! Every need is provided for and while spacious the cabin was still cozy, cool features like the 3rd floor hammock and walkway were extra touches that really sealed the deal. Everything felt clean, classy and comfortable, which is just how you should feel on vacation. Thank you again!

This was the ultimate vacation home in the Smokey Mountains. The views are absolutely spectacular. We first couldn’t take our eyes off the views from the back porch, but once inside we felt as if we were still outside. Everything about the home is centered around the views and the surrounding pristine nature. There is access to enjoying it from anywhere you are in the house. My daughter fell asleep while looking at the moon from the bed, through the skylight right above. The hosts even put a hammock on the upper porch. All details were accounted for to make this place a true piece of paradise. Immaculate and very thoughtfully decorated within the spirit of what is right outside their doors, without any detail allowed to distract from the beauty of the gorgeous surroundings. We planned on many activities during our visit, but changed our evening schedule so we can make it back on time for watching the sunset. This lovely cabin became a part of our to do list while in the Smokey Mountains.
The location was perfect for us. The cabin is within minutes away from everything, central with attractions in each direction. We decided to go horseback riding, and we found a wonderful, secluded stable not far at all. A fun swimming pool is very close to the cabin, and we enjoyed swimming surrounded by mountain views. The restaurants in the immediate vecinity were great, and the hosts provided a binder with compiled information about the attractions, restaurants and things to do in the area. We wanted to try the hot tub on the lower deck, but we ran out of time, and will have to return for this experience.
I highly recommend the Glimpse of Heaven, especially for anyone who really needs the serenity. This place would make anyone relax and re-balance!

My friend and I spent April 24 thru May 1, 2017. We had previously stayed at this cabin under another owner. This cabin is beautiful, inside and outside. Wonderful views of the mountains. Rockers and swings to enjoy on walk-a-round porch, lower and upper levels, including a hammock upstairs!! The inside is beautiful and so welcoming. Beautifully decorated. New owners have changed to a new couch, (so comfortable) and a very comfy recliner. New stainless appliances in kitchen, Keurig, toaster. Everything you need. Beds are so comfy as always. As you can tell, I love this cabin. New owners were so kind in working out our contract and made sure everything was perfect. A perfect week for us. Thank you Tim and Shirley. We want to return.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Your cabin was very warm and cozy and the view was terrific. We loved that everything was updated/like new in the cabin. The kitchen was well stocked and the bedding and beds were very comfortable. Even the pull out couch! The kids enjoyed the pool table and we all enjoyed soaking in the hot tub. The cabin was in a great location. Far away from the crowds, but still an easy drive to everything. We enjoyed an evening in Knoxville and several days in the National Park, using the less crowded and very close additional entrances. Thank you for being so accommodating and available!

Great cabin! Awesome views! Very comfortable! The bed upstair was super comfortable (on the firm side) and the one downstair is a lot more softer if you prefer that. There was all the essential things needed for our stay. The owners are super fast to respond to any concerns. We got to see a mama bear and her cubs one early morning as she was trying to open the trash bin outside. The location is secluded but not too far from everything. It's 10 min from the park. There is a $5 outdoor pool 5 min down the road. Grocery store at 15 min away. We loved it!

Every convenience was thought of. Our stay was relaxing and fun. The accommodation was top notch! Clean and comfy. Views spectacular! While exploring the region it was always good to return to the peaceful cabin. And when staying in there was plenty of entertaining activity available at our fingertips. Thanks for an easy and enjoyable stay. I hope to return soon and will put Glimpse of Heaven as my preferred setting choice.

This cabin has it all! We truly enjoyed our stay and we wish we would have allotted more time to just stay in and enjoy it more. The beds are big and comfy, the coffee and coffee maker were a nice touch, our kids loved the catwalk and hammock and we said so many times how impressed we were with the cleanliness of the entire cabin. And the view is unbeatable! If I could rate it 6 stars I would. Lastly, Tim and Shirley are so nice and easy to work with, even letting us know minor details leading up to our stay. It was so helpful and made the transition in and out effortless. Thanks, Tim and Shirley!

This cabin was clean and well stocked with anything you would need. The views from all three levels of the decks are awesome. We also saw a bear hanging around one morning. My wife and I had a great time and will return to this cabin. I would recommend this cabin to anyone who is looking to get some peace and quiet. Many thanks to the owners.

This cabin was so beautiful. Very clean. And the view was breathtaking!!! You won’t be disappointed in staying here!! I highly recommend it to anyone!! There was absolutely anything you could need in the cabin...the hot tub was great..the fire place was cozy (which we used everyday). We definitely will be back for sure(hopefully next year) and we were lucky enough to see the fall colors on the trees and see the snow stick to the trees...AMAZING!!!

A glimpse of heaven is truly a wonderful place to stay! Very quiet, extremely comfortable and quiet place to stay! Only 20-25 minutes from pigeon forge and out in the country setting not far at all from Townsend. Would stay here again in a heartbeat! Highly recommend!
